DESIGNER'S STANDARDS/SPECIFICATION TOOL KIT

A plethora of standards exist within seven disciplines, which include attachment, board performance, component mounting, design, materials, quality assessment, and workmanship. These standards are important to the design and manufacture of printed circuit boards. This course provides an overview of the standards for each of the disciplines, with a minimum standards set defined. Standards included are:

IPC-2221           Generic Standard on Printed Board Design
IPC-2222           Sectional Design Standard for Rigid Organic Printed
                        Boards
IPC-D-325          Documentation Requirements for Rigid Printed Boards,
                        Assemblies and Support Drawings
IPC-2223           Sectional Design Standard for Flexible printed boards
IPC-6011           Generic Performance specification for Printed Boards
IPC-6012           Qualification and Performance Specification for rigid
                        Printed Boards
IPC-A-600          Acceptability of Printed Boards
IPC-A-610          Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies
ANSI/J-STD-001 Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic
                        Assemblies
IPC-SM-782        Surface Mount Design and Land Pattern Standard
IPC-D-326          Information Requirements for Manufacturing Printed
                        Board Assemblies
