PRINTED WIRING BOARD PURCHASING for the BUYER

This workshop provides an overview of the details necessary for the purchasing agent to cost effectively purchase printed wiring boards. Areas covered include: printed board materials, fabrication process, typical fabrication and design rules, tooling and artwork, how boards are tested, cost drivers, vendor survey, receiving inspection, and vendor relationships.

INCOMING INSPECTION OF BARE RIGID BOARDS

Assembly lines are often shut down to analyze soldering defects. Unfortunately, not all soldering defects are caused by the assembly soldering process. Design or fabrication defects can be the root of the problem. These types of defects are often not identified early enough in the process to avoid the costly shutting down of an assembly soldering line. This workshop is intended to provide the incoming inspector with the ability to identify fabrication defects or design flaws that would adversely affect subsequent assembly/test processes.

PRINTED BOARD FABRICATION PROCESS

This workshop is typically a half-day session. It includes a detailed description of the fabrication process utilizing actual panels. The session concludes with a "Walk through the Shop" slide presentation (approximately 90 slides).  A very popular workshop, it has been well received because of it's instructional detail.
